Two Weeks 'til Departure

We were among the surprised members of the population here in New England when enough snow arrived to suspend the schools and to make driving somewhat tricky.  It looks pretty enough from our kitchen, but Quito does look a little warmer.

People have been asking how they can help out with support for the schools where we will work.  Already, many of you have generously donated clothing, books, instructional toys (like Lego), and general school supplies.  Our goal is to collect about 150 lbs (three suitcases worth), so e-mail us if you have something as we may fill up quite quickly. Any money donations can either go directly to the organizations through their websites (see links on the blog), or to Emma's UBECI market goods sale - a couple of dozen items still available such as dream catchers, necklaces and hacky sacks.

Here is the beginning of donations already.  Thank you so much.
